I would advise anyone who wishes
to visit this site to wear wellies - the field is very boggy. The
site was probably chosen because of the dampness - it improves the
efficiency of the antenna.
The grey unit in the enclosure appears to be a back-up generator. |
These are GPS receive antennas.
The transmit frequency is GPS locked because the service is in a
synchronous group with Bourton-on-the-water.
There are two, one for each transmitter (passive reserve with auto changeover). The unit next to the green cabin is indeed an auto start and transfer generator. |
